Who We Serve
Our clients come to us from differing circumstances
They are the homeless who are hungry. They are low-income families, some living paycheck to paycheck, many of whom struggle to put food on the table due to rising costs of essentials. They are immigrants and refugees, navigating the complex support system as they define their new way of life.
They look to the Food Closet to address their food needs, because they feel safe coming to our doors. We treat them with dignity and kindness, care and compassion. All are welcome here.
The SSIP Food Closet doesn’t just make an impact on the community, we leave a lasting imprint on the thousands of clients served each month.
Glenda, a client who came to us in 2025, was gracious enough to stay behind for a photo after receiving her food.
The Vihofet family visits us at least once or twice a week, and very much appreciate the variety of food (including baby food sometimes) that they receive in their food box.
